As Western University's online learning management system, OWL is home to:

• Western's undergraduate and graduate courses,
• Western Continuing Studies courses,
• Human Resources training,
• independent or collaborative project sites.

To get started, log into OWL with your Western Identity or WCS account or OWL account.

OWL is a customized version of Sakai, the open-source learning management system by Apereo.

For planned system maintenance, OWL uses WTS's standard maintenance windows:

• Sundays between midnight and 10am ET
• Thursdays between midnight and 7am ET

Please schedule due dates and assessments outside of these times.

If OWL will be unavailable for planned maintenance, an event will be announced here on OWL's Gateway and in the WTS Scheduled System Maintenance Calendar.
