These release notes for OWL 20.2-owl4 provide an overview of the changes made to OWL on May 1, 2022.
Introduction
This is the twenty-seventh release of OWL, and the fourth based on the 20.2 version of Sakai.
This release contains the retirement of Email Archive and improvements to Assignments, Gradebook, Tests & Quizzes, and more. This version of OWL was released on May 1, 2022.
Changes and Improvements
- Email Archive is retired. Email sent to the site email address prior to May 1, 2022 will still be available to read in the archive list.
- For instructors and site maintainers, the Manage Groups main page in Site Info now displays group members in an organized collapsible list for each group. Each group member's username now appears next to their name.
The updated Manage Groups page with usernames - Interface improvements have been made to the student submission process in Assignments.
- Creating Gradebook items now has better validation across all tools that create Gradebook items.
- Importing Overview from another site now merges the Site Information Display content with the existing description.
- The time limit and delivery date exceptions feature in Tests & Quizzes now prevents duplicate entries from being created for the same user or group.
- Gradebook loads faster for instructors and other site maintainers.
- The order of students in the Assignments export now matches the order of Gradebook's export.
- Validation in Date Manager has been improved.
- A display issue with the results percentage in SCORM Player has been fixed.
- Rubrics are now hidden for all students for group assignments.
- Additional improvements have been made to various tools including Forums, Gradebook, and Tests & Quizzes.
